This is the mask we're primarily going to use for our antagonist character. Sam said the mask was from a charity shop, supposedly for hockey, and we think its good because its quite similar to the 'Friday the 13th' antagonists mask fitting in with the horror narrative.

We took these photos in the Hayling Island area. Since it was night time, we thought it would be inspirational to take photos over a possible filming location for our Slenderman inspired film.

These photos, we took after my first lesson. These were the locations Alice suggested to the group and where we could film our teaser trailer.

Below are more possible filming locations, the general consensus is to film using these locations below due to it's suitability to the genre theme as our main theme is a masked killer stalking the three protagonists in wooded and isolated locations of which these give us.

This is the Forest of Bere. It is one of the locations we are considering filming from. We have chosen this location because it is a forest and fits in with our theme and chosen plot of a masked killer stalking three people at night. Also because it is a forest it adds to that horror feel to it like previous films like the Blair Witch Project. This also fits in with the horror convention because being in the woods signifies being alone and away from help, whereas being in the built up areas and on roads signifies a sense of community and safety to the characters, because they can just knock on a house and get help unlike being in the woods where there is no safety net like that.

Here is the road (Park Lane) running alongside the forest looking south east.

Here is another potential location of filming. The pub called (The Plough and Barleycorn) will be used to introduce our characters into the trailer and to our audience. The shot we would use for this will be an establishing shot to set the scene for our trailer.

Here is the road running alongside the pub and the direction the characters will take towards the forest. This is important to the trailer for continuity purposes as to show their path to their eventual fate.

Here is the road further up.

Here is the start of the forest to the left a looking north west up Park Lane.

Here is the pub from another shot. This is the alternative path they could take as it goes towards another possible filming location that leads down a wooded path, hence keeping the forest theme.

Here is the wooded path.

Here is the bridge they walk/ run across leading down the dirt track. As you can see here it is very wooded but also very open at the same time.

Here is the end of the path/ dirt track. Around past the trees is a lot of open fields and is quite eery at spooky at night hence fitting in with our horror theme.

Today, as a collective, we went out location scouting and took a variety of pictures. These pictures were taken at, and around midday and connote a stong feeling of lonliness and isolation. This is considered perfect when filing for the horror genre.
Although the shots were taken at midday we are confident that, with using the correct lighting we can capture our desired shots/scenes. Check below to explore the images.

This area here is the prime location that we filmed at. As you can see, with the leaves, bare trees and with a little less light it can be an eery place to be in and fits in very well with the horror narrative.

Here's another example of how "horror" like the area can be.

The above were used because of the 'horror' like feel to it as you can see from it's barron look.

The photos here are at one of the locations we have filmed at. The photos have that classic horror iconography as they are quite misty, hazy and mysterious. It also has that isolated feel to them as they are far away from society and ultimately help. Whereas this is in contrast to the built up area photos that are clear, light and "safe" due to the fact that in the trailer they are safe up to the point that they enter the wooded area.

This location here is the first place we location scouted. We used it for a bit of the filming but found that the other area (photos above) were better for us in the fact that the lighting was more dark and there was more of a "horror" feel to it.

A few photos above weren't practical for us as we had more suited locations, we felt the above weren't 'dark' and eery enough typical of the horror genre and conventions.

That said the field above was our initial choice to film from as it is a very open bit of land and thus leads to a sense of vulnerability.
